THE driver of a Porsche who smashed into a parked car before fleeing the scene is being hunted by police.
Officers in Scarborough are now seeking witnesses to the incident and are also keen to speak to any garages in the area who may have been asked to repair a Porsche Boxster.
The incident happened on Valley Road in the early hours of Sunday and resulted in a blue Vauxhall Astra being spun 90 degrees and written off due to the force of the impact. Traffic police said debris at the scene matched that from a Boxster.
Traffic Constable Gareth Gilleard, of Scarborough Road Policing Group, said: “It is important that we trace the driver of the vehicle who was involved in this collision and failed to stop at the scene or leave their details.
“I would like to hear from anyone who either saw the collision itself, has been asked to repair a Porsche Boxster over the past few days, or knows someone who owns a Porsche Boxster that has been damaged recently.”
If you can help, contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 and select option two.
