Advice to horse owners on beating the tack thieves

POLICE in North Yorkshire are offering advice to horse owners in the light of thefts of tack worth £9,000 in the county.
A police spokesman said: “As well as making sure that this valuable equipment is locked in a secure building, preferably at home, I advise owners to have it stamped with their postcode and register the details with www.immobilise.com
“Although this may not prevent it being stolen, it does mean that the police will be able to easily identify it when the tack is recovered. Telephone 01653 695600.”
