A NORTH Yorkshire MP has welcomed Government support for charities and encouraged people to make more donations.
The Giving White Paper has been laid out with the aim of making it easier to give money and time to charities, with the Local Giving Match Campaign ensuring the Government will match every £1 donated to local good causes up to a predetermined total.
Anne McIntosh, who represents Thirsk and Malton, said: “With these Government incentives, the aim is for more funding to be raised to better equip the charities to do their job.”
