Spooky stories at Scarborough Market Vaults Hallowe’en Festival

A BEST-SELLING children’s author has written a special scary story for the first-ever Scarborough Market Vaults Hallowe’en Festival.

GP Taylor, author of The Shadowmancer, lives in Scarborough with his family, and will read the story, which is set in The Vaults, in front of a Hallowe’en backdrop created by Vaults traders Tony Lawrence and Jules Hugessen at the festival on Wednesday.

Other events will include pumpkin carving, Hallowe’en arts and crafts, a fancy dress competition, trick or treating and a creative writing competition prize-giving ceremony, with a ghost trail charting Scarborough’s rich paranormal history also running until the end of the month.

Money raised throughout the festival will be donated to the Ellie’s Fund Brain Tumour Trust.
