Rent review of council offices in Pickering

COUNCILLORS at Pickering have agreed to revew their rent of the town council offices and meeting room at the Memorial Hall after failing to obtain alternative accommodation.

Town clerk, Andrew Husband, said the current rent of £6,300 was to increase from January to £6,900.

“We have looked for alternative sites but without success,” he added.

Coun William Oxley, the town mayor, said: “These are good offices and the rent will help towards the running costs of the Memorial Hall.”
