THREE cars including an Aston Martin have been impounded by traffic officers this week.

On Thursday (May 15) three drivers in Ryedale were arrested for failing to produce a valid insurance certificate.

An officer arrested a motorist on the A64 near to the Old Malton interchange who was forced to leave his caravan in a lay-by.

Later the same day, a man from Harome had his Aston Martin seized when he was stopped for failing to have insurance on the A170 between Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside. A third vehicle was also stopped in the area and all three drivers have been bailed by police.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Our road policing group are actively looking for driving using vehicles without the correct documents. We have technology which links up to a national database and we can easily hunt out offenders."
