Education - Sir John Deane's Grammar School Northwich, Hendon Police College, Detective Training School. London College of Law.

Previous Occupation - Midland Bank Employee (1964-65), Ex Metropolitan Police Officer (1965-69). Director & Partner in Greenway, Middleton & Company Ltd (Financial Advisor 1972-). He been an author, and has had a number of consultancy roles within Parliament.

Personal Overview - Likely to be a Conservative mainstream loyalist, but has been known to rebel on occasion. He may be 'Regionally sensitive' (Opposed the building of a Natural Gas Plant in 1987). He also tends to be cautious on social matters.
