Personal Overview - Elected in 1997, with expertise gained from the European Parliament as an MEP. From a legal background, and with continuing interest in the legal field. She can speak several European languages (French, Spanish, Danish). She has a wide range of political interests, and was a member of the European Parliament's Transport & Tourism Committee (has been a Conservative Transport Spokesman). She has served in several educational roles, (as a Governor of Writtle College & member of East Anglia University Chancellors Board) and has shown interest in business (President Anglia Enterprise in Europe & Yorkshire First). Has held a range of Conservative shadow postings during the 2001 and 2005 parliaments. She won the newly created seat of Thirsk and Malton in May 2010 in a by-election after the election had been delayed due to the death of the UKIP candidate.

Personal Overview - Elected to the European Parliament at the 2009 elections. A long term British Nationalist, he has experience of standing for parliament several times. He is opposed to the UK's membership of the European Union, but is willing to work with people from all countries of Europe to bring the EU formally to an end. He makes a distinction between his opposition to the EU and Europe in general, stating that he is not 'anti European'.

Political History - Joined the original British Nationalist Party and National Front in 1965. General Election candidate for Harrogate (February and October 1974), Birmingham Stechford by-election (1977), General Election candidate for Bradford North (1979) and Leeds East (1983). Joined the current BNP (2006). MEP Yorkshire and the Humber Region (2009-). Member of the Delegation to the EU-Croatia Joint Parliamentary Committee (2009-). Member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs (2009-). Substitute member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (2009-).

Other Information - Enjoys the English countryside and walking his dogs and riding horses. Likes the radio series 'In Our Time'.
