REBECCA Vaughn presents her onewoman show, I Elizabeth, at The Galtres Centre in Easingwold on Friday.

The play is set in 1568 when Queen Elizabeth I has defied the establishment by choosing to lead her country alone. She has forsaken her own dreams and desires in order to steer England towards national and spiritual security.

The most educated woman of her age steps from the shadows to unburden herself of her many troubles and reveal her innermost thoughts on marriage, succession, religion, war and the challenges to her throne.

After the performance and an interval, Rebecca will host a postshow chat about her one-woman shows.
