THERE’S a charity gig at Suddaby’s Crown in Wheelgate, Malton, tonight with the latest Light’s On event.

The gig features music from Midnight Special, a young trio whose unique style brings together an eclectic mix of folk, blues, jazz, swing and rockabilly, plus a developing collection of their own self-penned material. Brought up on traditional folk and acoustic music, they came together as a band in 2005.

Having been embraced by fans and critics alike, their debut album ‘Arriving…’ demonstrates their ability to interpret old classics such as I Saw The Light and Down And Out Blues, whilst brilliantly showcasing the songwriting talents of bandleader Amy Atkinson.

Midnight Special are becoming increasingly popular on the music scene, generating a buzz whenever they perform.

Doors 8.30pm for 9pm start, tickets cost £5 in advance or £6 on the door. To book phone 01944 738422.
