BURTON Agnes Hall and Gardens near Driffield extends its Christmas opening to visitors from now until December 21.

The Cunliffe-Lister family has gathered natural products from the hall’s award-winning gardens and estate to create stunning, original decorations.

A huge Christmas tree from the estate’s forest dominates the Great Hall. Original Elizabethan and Jacobean quarters are decorated in traditional style whilst the Long Gallery has adopted a contemporary Christmas mood to complement its collection of modern and impressionist art.

Children should be on the look out for Father Christmas who will be sleeping in his chair somewhere in the house.

The courtyard, the gift shop and flower room stocks unusual Christmas presents and decorations. The farmers’ food store is selling seasonal specialities and hampers.

On December 11, Burton Agnes Hall is open for a special evening of carol singing from 5pm until 8pm with local group Middle 8. Visitors are invited to join in the festive fun with an evening of Christmas carols in the hall and music and mulled wine in the courtyard.

Admission costs £6 adults/£5.50 concessions/£3 children.
