MUSIC and entertainment to suit all tastes are at the Milton Rooms in Malton this week.
Keith James brings to life the songs and poetry of Leonard Cohen tonight (Wednesday) in an intimate and sensitive rendition of some of Cohen’s greatest songs.
In a new event in the Milton Rooms calendar, the hall will be hosting an autumn and winter fashion show tomorrow night (Thursday) showcasing all that’s best in Malton’s fashion and accessory world, with prize draws, licensed bar and Christmas stalls.
An evening of folk music and poetry, in partnership with the Ryedale Book Festival, on Friday features the Mile Roses, fast gaining a reputation as a new band with original songs and close harmonies, plus poet Mandy Coe sharing a short selection of her music-inspired poems
It’s also a welcome return for one of the Milton Rooms Studio’s favourite duos, the Blackheart Orchestra, on Sunday, October 8, with their “wall of sound” mix from guitar and synthesiser plus the haunting vocals of Chrissie Mostyn.
Rounding off the week on Tuesday , October 10. is the newly-established Ryedale Blues Club with a great night of top-notch live blues from Ilkley’s Dr Bob and The Bluesmakers.
