A PHOTOGRAPHER has opened an exhibition of local work at the Sutton Bank National Park Centre.
This is the first exhibition for Matt Hillier, who lives in Helmsley and is a freelance photographer, as well as a primary school supply teacher in York, and a property photographer for an estate agent.
Comprising of 20 stunning images of the area, the exhibition will run until September 11 in the centre’s tearooms, open every day from 9am to 5.30pm.
Matt said: “I feel very excited to see my images adorning the walls at the centre, which is visited by thousands of people over the summer break.
“The gallery and exhibition programme the National Park run is entitled Inspired By..., with featured work taking its inspiration from the National Park. I’ve always felt inspired by the area - my brother and I would have Famous Five-style holidays at my grandparents’ cottage over in Harwood Dale every summer growing up, and I always knew one day I would live
here.
“The images on show are my exploration of locations familiar and new and are a continuation of my learning and development as a photographer.”
The images, which include shots of the Moors and East Coast, as well as locations around Helmsley, are available for sale, with prices starting from £45.
