TAKE three top class musicians, add a voice of exceptional quality with a range of flavours, and prepare to be entertained at the latest Milton Rooms jazz night this Friday, June 23.

The Pat McCarthy Quartet featuring singer Shannon Reilly bring a warm and melodic repertoire of interesting arrangements, from 1930s classics to the new generation of modern jazz hits, alongside a few of Pat’s original songs, presented with style and class.

The band is based in Lincolnshire but Pat has long been an established name in jazz circles across Europe and was knocked out when he first heard Shannon sing. “I wanted to add her name to the Quartet so that more people would take notice of what a wonderful singer she is,” said Pat.

Shannon has been singing since the age of five and grew up listening to the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day and Peggy Lee. But she has developed a style very much her own since graduating from Newcastle College of Music.

“I’d often sung at burlesque and cabaret nights but I always wanted to sing with a band. I found these guys and never looked back,” said Shannon.
