YORK’S Vintage Dance Group invites you to a sentimental journey back to the 1940s for a great night of vintage entertainment, live music, dance and fun at the Milton Rooms in Malton on Friday, June 2.
The dance night follows the success of a series of dance classes at the Milton Rooms run by the group with the emphasis on fun for all ages and abilities.
Dancing will be to the music of the versatile York-based Rhythm Exchange Dance Band and the vocal harmony trio, the Alka Seltzer Sisters from Newcastle, supported by the dance group’s own DJ Rosie.
Although there will be a special emphasis on the 1940s, they will also feature popular tunes from the ‘30s through to the ‘50s and the individual and partner dances that went with them such as the Jive, Lindy Hop, Palais Glide, Square Tango, Strolls and many more.
And while not essential, this will be a golden chance to get out the vintage suits and frocks as well as the dancing shoes. No previous experience is necessary.
Tickets, at £10, are available from the Milton Rooms on 01653 696240 or online at wegottickets.com/event/ 392019
