NICK O’Connor is at Helmsley Arts Centre on Friday, April 7, at 7.30pm, celebrating the life of Jacques Brel, in a devised one-man show.
Jacques was a Belgium singer, songwriter, actor and director and widely influenced songwriters and performers, not only in his native country but across the world, including the likes of David Bowie and Alex Harvey. His life included many significant events that shaped him and his music including his time in the military, music competitions, international tours and much more.
In Nick’s passionate performance he includes multimedia imagery, film projection and monologues, alongside a narrative derived from interviews and research of Brel’s complex life to bring this influential story to the stage.
