FOUR talented young musicians with their roots in bluegrass music join forces as a fast-rising acoustic quartet playing at the Milton Rooms on February 28.
Winners of the 2015 Spiral Earth Award for Best Debut, Cardboard Fox focus on original songs with a strong pop sensibility and an energetic live show that makes this foursome rather special.
The band features the sibling harmonies and breathtaking guitar and fiddle of Charlotte and Laura -internationally acclaimed as the Carrivick Sisters, who sold out their Studio debut at the Milton Rooms last year.
They are joined by the extraordinary talents of young mandolin player Joe Tozer and the driving double-bass playing and harmony vocals of John Breese.
Cardboard Fox formed only four years ago but these musicians have been playing together in various collectives and more informal settings for considerably longer. All the band have roots in bluegrass and folk music but their joint influences stretch much further and this shows in their self-penned songs, quality musicianship and beautiful vocals.
Tickets for the show, priced £10, are now on sale at the Milton Rooms box office in Malton or by telephone 01653 696240.
