AS the 400th anniversary year since Shakespeare’s death draws to a close, pianist Ashley Wass will be presenting a programme at Helmsley Arts Centre on Saturday, October 22, to mark the event.
Ashley is currently a professor at the Royal College of Music, an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music and is firmly established as one of the leading performers of his generation.
He was a prize winner at the Leeds Piano Competition, has appeared regularly at the Proms and at the world’s finest concert halls. He also played at Buckingham Palace to mark the Queen’s Golden Jubilee.
Renowned for a broad eclectic repertoire, he is much in demand as a chamber musician, where his Trio Apaches with violinist Matthew Trussler and cellist Thomas Carrol appears regularly on BBC Radio 3.
