WRITTEN by award-winning playwright John Godber, September in the Rain is a nostalgic and heart-warming observational comedy, and is coming to Whitby Pavilion for one night only on Saturday, July 23.

Steve Jackson, who played Janice Battersby's lodger and bin man Trevor in Coronation Street, stars alongside northern actress Sarah Burrill. The play is directed by Andy Pope and produced by 'Little Diamond Theatre Company'.

After the success of their debut performance on the main stage at Oldham Coliseum in January, the company are delighted to be bringing the play on tour to Preston, Manchester, Rhyl and Whitby.

The play follows the life of miner Jack and his wife Liz on their annual holiday to Blackpool over the years. A true Northern love story. They laugh and bicker as they enjoy ice-cream, strolling along the prom and paddling in the sea. Knotted hankies, stripey deckchairs, pale bare legs and trips to the Tower Lounge conjure up a bygone era and the good old days.

So hold on to your kiss me quick hats and your candy floss, and come and join them...

Tickets for ‘September In The Rain’ are now on sale priced at £12 for adults and £10 for concessions. Tickets are available from Whitby Pavilion’s Box Office on 01947 458899 and via www.whitbypavilion.co.uk
