COMEDY comes to Helmsley Arts Centre this month with TV comic Paul Sinha's new show on Friday and character comedian Kieran Hodgson's hilarious one-man show about Lance Armstrong on Friday, June 17.

Stand-up comedian and star of ITV’s The Chase, Paul Sinha's new show is called Postcards from the Z List. He is also currently to be heard on Radio 4's Paul Sinha's History Revision, but now he's hitting the road after a self-imposed exile during which real life took over. Looking back, life as a travelling single gaysian delivering lefty, liberal jokes was straightforward.

Now he has to juggle the responsibilities of being an uncle, being in a relationship for the first time in twenty years, and being that bloke, from that quiz, in that poorly-fitting white suit.

Kieran Hodgson, who starred as Pike in BBC2’s Making Dad’s Army, and featured in BBC2’s Count Arthur Strong and the movie Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, brings his own show, Lance.

In 2003, Lance Armstrong won his fifth Tour de France title, and a young boy in West Yorkshire believed in him. Now a character comedian, he (the boy) sets out on tour with a heartfelt and hilarious story of growing up, betrayal by professional athletes, and redemption.

You don't have to be a cycling fan to love this show, which was nominated for Best Show at the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2015 and had a sell-out four-week run in London’s West End last autumn.
