BIRDY will play York Barbican on November 2 as the only Yorkshire show on her 10-date autumn tour.

The teenage singer-songwriter from Lymington will be promoting her third album, Beautiful Lies, which has charted in the Top 10 in 43 countries, including peaking at number four in Britain, since its release in March.

Birdy, whose real name is Jasmine Lucilla Elizabeth Jennifer van den Bogaerde, has performed on The Voice and Graham Norton's BBC1 Friday night chat show this year, as well as making an appearance on BBC Breakfast.

Birdy, who turned 20 on May 15, first came to national attention at the age of 14 with her rendition of Bon Iver’s Skinny Love. She has released the albums Birdy, Fire Within and now Beautiful Lies; toured the world, performed at the Paralympics Opening Ceremony and been nominated for a Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist.

En route to accumulating 413 million views on YouTube and selling more than 10.5 million records worldwide, Birdy has written songs for the films The Fault In Our Stars and The Hunger Games and sung on Mumford & Sons’ Grammy-winning song Learn Me Right, from the soundtrack for Pixar's animation, Brave.
