THE full music line-up for the forthcoming Coastival arts event has been finalised.

Organisers promise something for all musical tastes during Coastival when it runs from February 12 to 14.

On top of headline acts, who include Cast, Asian Dub Foundation and Snake Davis, there will be a host of other sessions, many featuring local bands, DJs and VJs to enjoy.

Director Wendy Holroyd said: “We truly have music for all tastes at Coastival this year and a superb mix from Friday through to Sunday night.

“Coastival will keep up its tradition of having popular national and international acts on the bill as well as showcasing local and regional talent at the same time.

“With A Band Anyone Can Join also part of the festival, we can pretty much say: ‘if you can play, come along and be a part of it.”

Rock band Cast will headline Coastival with a concert at the Spa Grand Hall on the evening of Friday, February 12, supported by Two Skies.

Popular saxophonist Snake Davis will play at the Spa during the afternoon of Saturday, February 13, supported by Jazz Aesthetic.

Asian Dub Foundation will play the Spa on the evening of February 13 supported by Project 12.

A Band Anyone Can Join will see Hope and Social, a band from Leeds, bring together local musicians for a unique concert at the Spa Grand Hall on Sunday, February 14, from 2.30pm.

The Den will open its doors at Farrer’s Bar at the Spa during all three days of Coastival. The Den runs from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, February 12, when acts will include The Den House Band and The Unkempt. From 2pm to 8pm on Saturday, 13 performers will include Dave Tomlinson, Foggy, Richard Adams and The Alastair James Band and from 2pm to 8pm on Sunday, 14 artists will include Rattlin Sheiks, AC3, Kate Peters and Tom Townsend (Original Project).

Backseat Mafia, a Sheffield-born music and entertainment website, returns to Coastival to bring some of the best new and cutting edge bands to the Spa Music Room. Acts on Saturday, February 13, from noon to 8pm, will include Conner & Nathen, Fie! Fie! Fie!, Oedipus the King, Young Jack, Breeze, Big Love, Cannibal Animal, Stillwave, Suzy Blu and Vulgarians. During the late night set, from 10pm to 1.30am, the line-up will include Desperate Journalist, Rhys Bloodjoy, Human Hair and Weirds. Then on Sunday from noon to 5pm, the line-up will include Shaun Bell, Karl Nurse, Suzy Blu, Sabrina Piggott and Terri Shaltiel.

As well as individual tickets, two special ticket offers are available, one covering the whole weekend’s music, the other for Saturday only.

Copies of the Coastival 2016 programme are now available from Woodend, Scarborough Spa, The Stephen Joseph Theatre, Mojo’s, the YMCA, The Street, the Rotunda, Scarborough Library, the Art Gallery and a host of other cafes, shops and galleries.
