TINY Time Tales goes festive as the Stephen Joseph Theatre gets ready to stage a brand new, interactive children’s play.

Swotty McPhearson’s Christmas Quiz is the latest show presented by the SJT OutReach team and is aimed at children, aged seven years and under, and their families and friends.

Expect plenty of singing, dancing and joining in plus the usual Tiny Time Tales nonsense and there may even be a visit from a very special Christmas guest.

Simon McPhearson, AKA Swotty McPhearson, hates Christmas. In fact if it’s not an exam or a puzzle or a quiz he hates just about everything. His mummy and daddy, on the other hand, absolutely love Christmas, everything about it. If it sparkles or jingles or is covered in glitter then you can bet they’ll own it.

This year they’ve decided to try to get Simon into the Christmas spirit, will he be moved by the nursery school choir and their rendition of Little Donkey or swayed by next door neighbour Norman’s famous elf dance? Or will it take a special visitor to make Swotty change his mind about Christmas?

Writer and Director Cheryl Govan said: “We’re delighted to be staging even more performances of Tiny Time Tales this Christmas. Swotty McPhearson’s Christmas Quiz is the perfect pick-me-up for any young children and their adults and brings with it a colourful and quirky host of characters, puzzles aplenty, festive fun and nonsense - just what Santa ordered!”

Swotty McPhearson’s Christmas Quiz can be seen at the Stephen Joseph Theatre from Saturday, 12 to Wednesday, 16 December at 10.30am (excluding Sunday 13 December), and on Thursday, 17 December at 10.30am and 5pm.

Tickets, priced at £4, are available in advance from the box office on 01723 370541 and online at www.sjt.uk.com. Advance booking is advised.
