IT’S behind you!

The Spa in Scarborough opens this year’s family panto Dick Whittington & his Wonderful Cat.

This year’s Christmas season will sparkle like never before, with more than 20 enchanting performances running from December 10 to January 1 at Scarborough Spa’s Theatre.

Dick Whittington is the story of a young orphan who comes to London to seek his fortune, as he has heard that the city’s streets are paved with gold. All he has in the world is his faithful best friend, a cat named Tommy and so, together they travel to the city.

Dick and Tommy are soon disappointed when they find that, far from being paved with gold, London is a dark, busy and lonely place. Finally, Dick manages to find a place to stay, with a wealthy merchant named Fitzwarren and his daughter Alice. Dick and Alice quickly fall in love, but the story’s villain, King Rat conspires to come between them.

Directed by Linda Newport, this year’s pantomime features a hugely talented cast, including Madcap duo Double Trouble, summer show favourites Ellie Carroll & Stuart Metcalfe and Phil Beck returns as Sarah The Cook.

The show also features a full supporting cast from The Hatton School of Performing Arts, a local training facility with over 21 years of experience. These young and talented students are sure to be the icing on the cake in this fun-filled show.

Packed with audience participation, dazzling sets, amazing costumes and an abundance of comedy, Scarborough audiences will have a ball this Christmas with this year's magical family pantomime.
