MALTON-based ladies choir Harmonia will be kicking off the Christmas season with a concert at Pickering’s Kirk Theatre.

The concert has been organised by choir member Greta Laidler to mark her recent retirement from Pickering Medical Practice, and will feature numbers from the choir’s extensive repertoire together with their Christmas programme.

Supporting the choir will be vocalists Neville Maw, choir director Alison Davis and Greta’s daughter Helen Oldroyd.

Greta said: “ I am proud to be a member of the choir and also a Front of House volunteer at the Kirk Theatre. I wanted to mark my retirement by organising a concert which will benefit both the choir and the theatre.

"The choir perform regularly throughout the year raising money for various organisations and a hard working team of volunteers at the Kirk Theatre work tirelessly raising money to ensure the continued running of the theatre and I’ve taken this opportunity to give something back to them both”.

Christmas with Harmonia will be performed on Saturday, December 5, at 7.30pm.

Tickets at £7 and £6, concessions, can be obtained from the theatre box office open every Tuesday between 11am and 1pm, phone 01751 474833 or visit www.kirtktheatre.co.uk
