JAMES Martin has announced a second York show as his first show nears sell out.

The celebrity chef's tour James Martin: Plates, Mates And Automobiles will visit 25 venues across the UK including the York Barbican on Sunday, February 28 with a second date added on Monday, February 29.

James said: “I’m so excited to be heading out on my first ever tour and as a Yorkshire man, am thrilled to be able to bring my show to the Barbican for a second night. I want to thanks the people of Yorkshire for their constant support and hope they join for what I promise will be a feast of a live show.”

The tour marks 20 years since James first graced our TV screens. His show will be a fast-paced, interactive and high tech extravaganza. Packed with James’ signature cooking demonstrations, full of surprises and some very special guests, audiences across the country will be thrilled as this multi media production is brought live to the big stage.

He said: “I’ve been cooking live on TV for 20 years now and I felt it was time to do something I’ve never done before that was truly special. I’m so excited to be heading out on my first ever tour, doing what I do best but on the big stage. I can’t wait to get out there and visit so many great parts of the UK, this show is going to be super cool. I’m pulling out my favourite recipes and mixing in plenty of surprises and special guests in what I hope is going to be feast of a live show. Hope to see you there!”

James Martin began catering college at 16 and went on to open his first restaurant at the age of just 22 years old. His television career started in 1996 and he’s rarely been off the screen since. James has become a true household favourite, presenting and taking part in some of the nation’s most loved programmes. His Saturday morning TV show currently attracts in excess of 3.5 million viewers every week.

James is also the author of 15 best-selling and award winning cookbooks as well as being a car and motorbike enthusiast. In honour of his cooking roots as a pastry chef, James’ new recipe book, Sweet, is out now.
