NOEL Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have announced they will be heading to first direct arena in Leeds next year.

The band will be appearing with special guests Super Furry Animals, on Wednesday, April 27.

New single The Dying Of The Light is taken from the album Chasing Yesterday and released on December 11.

Chasing Yesterday went straight to number one in the Official UK Album Chart after its March 2 release – and remains the highest-selling album in its first week on sale in 2015.

Last month Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds were honoured with the reader voted Q Award for Best Album, adding to Noel’s long list of accolades, including the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection in 2013, the NME Godlike Genius Award in 2012 and the Q Icon Award.

Tony Watson, director of sales and marketing at the first direct arena, said: “first direct arena was designed to host the biggest names in music and you don’t get much bigger than Noel Gallagher."
