FANS of the legendary singer songwriter Leonard Cohen can look forward to an evening with tribute artist Keith James at Helmsley Arts Centre on Friday.

Keith has a longstanding reputation of exact and mesmerising performances, along with an undying love of the pure song. Featured alongside such songs as Famous Blue Raincoat, Sisters of Mercy, Suzanne and Hallelujah, there will also be poems by Federico Garcia Lorca - said to be Cohen’s greatest influence - that Keith has set to music.

Saturday sees Clap Trap Productions' latest touring show Broken. This local company produces high quality new theatre appealing to all ages, and the play features a large cast of talented local performers, including Kate Cawte, Tabitha Grove, Cal Stockbridge, Tom Tyson and Simon Waley.

It tells the story of 24-year-old Ellie, who returns to the family home after working overseas to find that she is no longer the centre of everyone’s world. Confused and unsure of her own identity, she wreaks havoc on those around her. Friendships, partnerships and family bonds are tested to their limits. Can what is broken ever be unbroken...? This new play is written by Libby Pearson who also directs alongside Jane Hollington.

Bolshoi Ballet's production of Jewels will be screened as an Encore production on Sunday, at 3pm.

This opulent triptych, which was captured live in January 2014, was inspired by choreographer George Balanchine’s visit to the jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels in New York, and celebrates the cities and dance schools of Paris, New York and St Petersburg, each bound to its own precious stone. Balanchine built a homage of captivating beauty to the dance schools that had forged his style.
