SOUTH Korean pianist Young-Choon Park makes a welcome return to the Stephen Joseph Theatre, in Scarborough, on September 14, at 7.30pm, performing works by Mozart, Scarlatti, Liszt and Beethoven.

The young child prodigy studied at the Juilliard School in New York and later gained the highest master’s degree at the Hochschule in Munich.

She now tours extensively in Europe, Scandinavia, United States and South Africa performing at major concert venues, including the Birmingham Symphony Hall, Belfast Waterfront Hall, Lincoln Centre New York, Tivoli Koncertsalen Copenhagen, Gasteig Munich and the Musikverein in Vienna. She gave her 750th concert in London earlier this year.

Young-Choon Park appears at numerous international music festivals and performs as a concerto soloist with leading orchestras, including the Stuttgart Philharmonic, Halle State Philharmonic, Hungarian State Opera, Sofia Philharmonic, Baden-Badener Philharmonie, Weiner Mozart and many more. She broadcasts for radio and television and is currently recording the complete Mozart piano concertos.

The concert programme at the Stephen Joseph Theatre will include Mozart’s Sonata No.11 in A major, KV331, Beethoven’s Sonata No.1 in F minor op.2 No.1, Schumann’s Humoreske in B flat major op.20 and Chopin’s Scherzo No.2 in B-flat minor op.31.
