ENJOY a spot of tea with the cast, creative teams and leading personnel behind this summer’s productions and events at the Stephen Joseph Theatre (SJT) in Scarborough.

In the latest addition to its 60th anniversary special programme, the SJT is welcoming audiences to enjoy a cup of tea and a scone while listening to guest speakers on topics ranging from working with renowned playwright Alan Ayckbourn to getting wet and wild in the upcoming production of Tim Firth’s Neville’s Island and on planning for the future of the theatre.

There is a chance to hear from members of the cast currently appearing in Ayckbourn’s first revival of Confusions and soon to be seen in the world premiere of his 79th play, Hero’s Welcome; the director, designer and cast of Neville’s Island will be discussing their revival production, which opens in August; former executive director Stephen Wood and actress Heather Stoney – Lady Ayckbourn – will be recounting their time with the company; and there will also be a talk with artistic director Chris Monks and new chief executive Mathew Russell.

Two for Tea takes place at 4pm every Wednesday at the SJT until September 9.

September 9: Richard Stacey and Terenia Edwards from the cast of Alan Ayckbourn’s Hero's Welcome.
