ROOTSY Anglo-American rock pop band Morning Bride perform at the Inspired by… gallery at The Moors National Park Centre at Danby on Saturday.

Formed in east London, Morning Bride is Amity Joy Dunn, lead vocals, melodica, accordion and keyboards, Mark James Pearson, lead vocals, rhythm and bass guitars, songs and Pete Bennett, lead and slide guitars.

The band has recently relocated to the North Yorkshire coast and released their long-awaited second album The North Sea Rising, the much-anticipated follow-up to the critically-acclaimed debut Lea Valley Delta Blues.

They have been described as ‘a brilliant roots rock band with solid gold tunes’ by The Word magazine, while The Independent said: “Astonishing… every once in a while you stumble upon a band and wonder how it is that not more people know about them, but are secretly pleased they don’t. Morning Bride are that kind of band.”

Gallery manager Sally Ann Smith said: “We’re rapidly building a reputation as a music venue, and there’s more to come this summer.

"From the doorstep of The Moors National Park Centre, you can see so much that makes the North York Moors National Park so special: moorland, woodland, farmland, miles of hedges and drystone walls, historic buildings – it’s a great backdrop for great music.”

The evening will also include an artists’ question and answer session with photographers Steve Race and George Stoyle, whose photography of the wildlife and landscapes of the North York Moors is on show at the gallery until July 6.

Tickets are £7.50 and advance booking is essential by phoning 01439 772737 or emailing moorscentre@northyorkmoors.org.uk

Steve and George will also give a talk on Wednesday, July 1, at 6pm, discussing their adventures, inspiration and work, for which tickets are £5.
