SINGER, actor and comedian Bernard Wrigley, also known as the Bolton Bullfrog, makes his debut appearance at the Milton Rooms, in Milton, on Friday, April 24, for an evening of songs, stories and silliness.

Bernard started out as a singer and storyteller in the folk clubs in the late 1960s and then writing and performing at the Octagon theatre in Bolton.

His career has always combined singing and acting and throughout he has released a steady stream of LPs and CDs – 18 to date – of traditional and original songs, stories and monologues, his main instruments being the guitar and concertina.

As well as performing at concerts and folk clubs, Bernard loves the varied nature his career has followed and he has made many television appearances, including Dodgy Eric in Phoenix Nights, eccentric rocket inventor Barry Clegg in Emmerdale and the Reverend Marvin Winstanley in Coronation Street.

Further acting credits include Last of the Summer Wine, Cold Feet, Coogan’s Run, Victoria Wood’s Dinnerladies, Alan Bennett Films and Brassed Off.

This is Bernard’s first visit to the Milton Rooms so expect some old favourites along with newer material, whatever he performs it will be with his unique blend of songs, monologues, instrumentals and silliness.

The performance begins at 8pm and doors open at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £9 in advance (£10 at the door) and are available by phoning 01653 696240.
