MEMBERS of Ryedale Youth Ballet are performing Coppelia at Norton College on Sunday.
Produced in association with Kirkham Henry Performing Arts Centre in Malton , the pupils will take part in two performances at 2 and 7pm.
The matinee will include a short synopsis of the story which we will be reading out in more detail beforehand.
My First Ballet: Coppélia tells the comic family tale of an eccentric toymaker and his mechanical doll in an adapted version for young audiences.
Director Angela Kirkham said they were delighted that former pupil, Samantha Raine, now ballet mistress to the Royal Ballet Company, had kindly agreed to be Patron of Ryedale Youth Ballet.
"She will be travelling up on the Sunday taking time out from her busy schedule at The Royal Opera House to watch and support the young cast," she added.
