NUNNINGTON Hall is hosting an Art for Christmas exhibition, packed with works by the artists that live in Ryedale and beyond.

The exhibition showcases a wide variety of subjects, including local life, landscapes, nature, abstract and amazing animals. There will be a huge range of styles and media on display, from paints to photos, to cross-stitch and carving.

Visitor Experience Manager at Nunnington Hall, James Etherington, said: ”Picking the works to go on display for this exhibition was tough, there were just so many wonderful entries.

“The exhibition is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the abilities of the many artists who live and work in the region and it will really light up the exhibition space here at the Hall.”

As part of the festive celebrations, the hall will be decorated in preparation for a 1920’s Christmas, with the tearoom serving seasonal favourites. Father Christmas will also be visiting, greeting children with a special present.

The exhibition will be shown at Nunnington Hall as part of its changing exhibition programme until Sunday, December 14.

The hall is open Saturday and Sunday, from 11am to 4pm. For more information, phone 01439 748283 or visit nationaltrust.org.uk/nunnington
