CHRISTMAS shoppers are being offered the best of local arts, crafts and seasonal gifts at a fair later this month.

The Moors National Park Centre’s popular Christmas fair takes place on Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16. Doors open at 10.30am and entry is free.

On November 29 and 30, Sutton Bank National Park Centre will be holding a Christmas shopping weekend with a 10 per cent discount on gift shop purchases of £25 or more.

The craft fair at The Moors National Park Centre, in Danby, offers the chance to buy food, drink and gifts direct from the artists and producers themselves – all under one roof.

People can browse from more than 35 stalls selling jewellery, soaps, pottery, woodwork, candles and chocolate.

There will be festive children’s craft-making activities, a visit from Father Christmas and traditional music from a vintage fairground organ.

The Christmas fair coincides with an exhibition at the centre’s Inspired by… gallery by local craft association Brigantia, which runs from November 15 to January 11.

Michael Graham, assistant director of park services at the National Park Authority, said: “From stocking fillers to gifts for that hard to buy for relative, our craft fair and shopping weekend will provide plenty of options for presents that you would be hard pushed to find on the high street.

“The centre’s café will be serving seasonal food and drink and both locations have great family-friendly walks. With something for everyone the fair make a lovely day out for all the family and takes the stress of the Christmas shopping.”

Both centres are open daily in November and December, from 10.30am until 4pm, apart from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
