TEDDY boys and girls from the four corners of the British Isles, as well as overseas, will descend on the Scarborough Spa this weekend for the annual Summer Rockin’ Event.
Hundreds of rock’n’rollers will enjoy more than 30 hours of rockabilly, doo wop and stroll from tomorrow until Sunday with performances from some of Britain’s best loved rock’n’roll bands.
This year’s event is headlined by The Jets, who enjoyed chart success at home and abroad in the 1980s, and The Stingrays, who perform hits by Johnny Kidd, Cliff Richard and Vince Taylor.
On the bill too are newcomers Suzie and The Shakers, Manchester three-piece Black Cat Trio and The Downtown Daddyo’s.
The Promenade Lounge will host a rock’n’roll fair selling records, memorabilia and accessories, while Sunday has a free event in the Sun Court with DJ sets by The Big Bounce and The Stingrays. Day and weekend tickets are available on 01723 821888 or online at scarboroughspa.co.uk
