FOLLOWING on from the success of their debut show Napoli, Yorkshire-based theatre company Flying Cloud return to the Stephen Joseph Theatre, in Scarborough, with their new play The Book.

The company is known for new writing, movement, live music and projections. The Book invites you on an intrepid journey of friendship, identity and possibility, exploring themes of tolerance and political and cultural manipulation.

A beautiful idea is captured in a book but its interpretation has a journey that goes dangerously beyond the author’s imaginings. Across the centuries, the lives of three characters intertwine through the life of the book.

The survival of the book both challenges their courage and questions their identity. Their actions unknowingly alter not only their own path, but the course of world history. In a world of divisive ideas, what unites everyone’s story?

The Book is at the Stephen Joseph Theatre on Friday, at 7.45pm, and Saturday, at 2.45pm and 7.45pm.

Tickets, priced from £10 to £17.50, are available from the box office on 01723 370541 or online at sjt.uk.com
