THE Live Canon ensemble is heading to Scarborough to give a one-off performance at the Stephen Joseph Theatre (SJT) o launch a new audio poetry tour of the town, available from Saturday, April 19.

Visitors and residents can explore the local landscape in the new Scarborough Poetry Walk which features poems inspired by the town and its coastline.

Just pick up an mp3 player, headphones and an illustrated map from the SJT in Westborough and set off on a guided walk with poems for company, recorded by the Live Canon ensemble.

The group will also perform at the SJT, giving a sneak preview of what to expect from the guided tour, in a unique performance featuring works inspired by Scarborough, spanning 500 years.

Live Canon is a group of professional actors and theatre makers who perform poetry, from memory, at festivals and theatres.

The Scarborough Poetry Walk is available from 19 April until 4 October at £4 per person, from 10am to 4pm (last booking time). All items can be picked up from the SJT Box Office. All visitors to the Live Canon Live performance can get the walk at half price.
