THE Stephen Joseph Theatre is delighted to welcome new work by the Goofus theatre company on its very first tour.
On April 10, the company presents Taking Charlie, a dark comedic fantasy, based on a true story, about the abduction of Charlie Chaplin’s body by two hapless kidnappers in 1978.
A tale full of bad ideas and dead comics, the play uses puppetry, physical theatre and shadow play to create the world the characters inhabit.
The production is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
Taking Charlie plays at the SJT in the McCarthy theatre at 7.45pm. Tickets, priced from £10 to £15, are available from Box Office on 01723 370541 and online at www.sjt.uk.com
