Lime and Ice Project RSS Feed


Lime and Ice is a partnership between the North York Moors National Park Authority, Natural England, English Heritage, Forestry Commission and the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The project will see new access, interpretation and conservation initiatives carried out in the southwest corner of the North York Moors National Park and the northern part of the Howardian Hills AONB. It is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and will run until 2013.

Plea for memorabilia of rural life

People who live in or have a connection to the Hambleton and Howardian Hills are being asked to look through old photo albums, letters and family mementos to help plug a knowledge gap about rural life and the culture and traditions of this area.

Sutton Bank project green light
