THE judge from a BBC gardening show will appear at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show this week.
Jim Buttress has been senior judge and supporter of the show for years, but has recently been seen TV’s Big Allotment Challenge.
Mr Buttress was superintendent of the Royal Parks for 25 years and holds the Victoria Medal of Honour – the highest accolade in horticulture.
He was head judge for Britain in Bloom for 25 years, where he was nicknamed ‘Judge Dread’.
Mr Buttress will join the team from Kitchen Garden Live tomorrow at 11am to talk about how to grow your own.
That’s before speaking to visitors of the Dig It Garden from 2pm about the Perennial charity – set up 175 years ago to support people who work in the horticultural industry.
There will also be a signing session for copies of the allotment challenge book in Gardening Hall 2 between 11.30am and noon.
