A FOOD festival in Malton on Saturday is to celebrate the best of the season’s harvest.
The Malton Harvest Food Festival, the sister event to the Food Lovers Festival held in May, will showcase the region’s finest autumnal food and drink.
At the heart of the festival will be the producer’s market with more than 80 food and drink stalls. There will also be talks, tastings, live music and cooking demos from local chefs, including the Talbot Hotel’s Dan Graham and Peter Neville from the Pheasant Hotel.
The streets will be lined by local buskers and in the evening, Malton-based Brass Castle Brewery, gin producers Sloemotion and cider specialists Orchards of Husthwaite will be hosting the festival bar with an accompanying selection of the region’s best street food vans.
The Harvest Food Festival specialises in seafood from Yorkshire’s coastline, along with game from the North York Moors, which are both available in the newly created ‘Game & Seafood Court’, where there will also be butchery demonstrations.
