AFTER the success of last year’s festival, the Bridlington Real Ale Festival will return on Friday, May 8 and Saturday, May 9.

The second Bridlington Real Ale festival will be a true celebration for the town and an opportunity for real ale and cider lovers from across the area to enjoy a fantastic range of beer and cider, live music and great food.

This year organisers will be putting on more music, real lager and some gluten-free beer and hope to to again pull in thousands of real ale and cider fans from across the county for the two-day beer, cider, food and music extravaganza.

Festival organiser James Harper said: “There is no doubt that people are much more aware of what real ale is, what to look for and even what goes into making good beer.

“Over the last six years of running beer festivals we have seen a huge change in people’s attitudes and understanding regarding real ale and cider and it is lovely to hear people commenting on the styles and flavours they now look for after visiting a few beer festivals.

“This year, with Yorkshire riding on a high we are focusing on the best of Yorkshire brewing, there will be lots of breweries that people of heard of, but also lots that people haven’t.

“We also can’t miss the opportunity to have a few Yorkshire cycling themed ales.”

This year’s music is being supported by Off the Road, who are pulling together a range of live bands that will play throughout the festival.

For 2015, the event will have live music during Saturday afternoon as well as the two main evening sessions.

The afternoon session will be a more relaxed open mic style affair, the perfect accompaniment to a few ales by the sea.
