THE Devonshire Arms Hotel and Spa has announced a food and wine week, which takes place from Monday, December 1 to Sunday, December 7.

Known as The Dev, the hotel will be joined by some of the UK’s most exciting chefs, including Andrew Pern, from The Star Inn, at Harome, Mark Birchall, from L’enclume, James Mackenzie, from The Pipe & Glass, and Tim Bilton, from The Spiced Pear.

Starting off the week is Take 5 Chefs! where The Dev’s head chef of the Burlington Restaurant, Adam Smith, welcomes a host of Yorkshire chefs into his kitchen to prepare a five-course dinner.

The War of the Roses lunch includes chef Nigel Haworth, from Northcote Manor, in Lancashire, and Burlington Restaurant’s head chef Adam Smith as they go up against one another to prepare the most delicious meal of the day.

Other events include the Laurent Perrier dinner, a gourmet evening, which will see Champagne matched to a seasonal taster menu prepared by Adam Smith, head chef of the Burlington restaurant.

Thursday sees Mark Birchall, head chef at Simon Rogan’s restaurant L’enclume, create a menu drawing inspiration from the award-winning Michelin-starred restaurant in Cartmel. Mark will deliver a culinary treat for diners through his fresh and exciting seasonally foraged menu.

As the celebrations continue into the weekend, Adam Smith takes the reins to create a truly spectacular dinner with his own unique style.

Adam is passionate about sourcing the very best ingredients and creating the most delicious and stunning dishes, not just dinner but a whole experience.

On the final night, wine specialist Joe Fattorini will be hosting an evening of wines, accompanied by a tasting menu from Adam Smith. Joe’s passion and knowledge will guarantee a truly memorable finish to a week of culinary delights.
