DIRECTORS and staff at a Thixendale business are celebrating the third award for its latest product.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s new oak-smoked oil, a collaboration with East Yorkshire business, Staal Smokehouse, won the Best Condiment award at the inaugural Beverley Food Festival and East Yorkshire Local Food Network Awards at Tickton Grange recently.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s Jennie Palmer said: “We had a great night and were delighted that the judges like the oak- smoked oil as much as we do.”

The success comes on the back of a win in the Best Cooking Oil category of the national Farm Produce Awards in July and being awarded Two Gold Stars in the Guild of Fine Food Taste awards in August.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil has also been shortlisted in the Farm Diversification Innovator category in the British Farming Awards.

Available from farmers’ markets, farm shops, delis and independent retailers in Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s oak- smoked oil is hand-crafted and smoked over oak and apple wood for a fuller flavour.

Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil is used in Michelin-starred kitchens, including the Pipe and Glass, at South Dalton, and all products are preservative, GM and gluten-free and are suitable for vegetarians.
