A GROWING demand for an award winning beer has created a new job.

Hunmanby microbrewery, Wold Top Brewery has recruited Tom Cooper primarily to help with the running of the bottling line, but as with all the members of the close knit team of 15, he will also be involved in other areas of the business.

Tom Cooper, 34, may be more familiar to festival goers as the husband of Leila Cooper, who organises the annual Moonbeams Wold Top Folk Festival.

The couple were married at Hunmanby Grange, home to Wold Top Brewery, in July 2012 and they now live in a Lowthorpe, near Driffield.

Tom said: "It's a really exciting time to join the brewery and I'm really enjoying being a part of the team."

Brewery Operations Manager, Alex Balchin added: "Tom has fitted in brilliantly and has made a valuable contribution in only a short space of time."

Farm-based Wold Top Brewery is part of the Higher Level Stewardship (HLS) scheme for environmental initiatives and is also working closely with the RSPB to promote its birdlife.

It brews traditional real ale from home and Wolds grown malting barley, the finest hops and chalk-filtered water from the farm's own borehole. Its range of award winning ales is also available through the website, independent, family owned retailers, farm shops, delis, hotels, pubs and off licences throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
