A RYEDALE charity evening is showcasing the range of Shepherds Purse Cheeses served with specially selected wines from Firth and Co Wine merchants.
Established thirty years ago by Judy Bell MBE the Yorkshire cheeses are made with cow, ewe and buffalo milk, and have won world wide awards, as well as the plaudits of HRH Prince Charles and celebrity chefs Paul Hollywood, and Rick Stein.
Guests attending the Cheese and Wine Tasting evening to be held at Kirby Misperton Village Hall on Friday, April 25 will hear how the cheeses are created by hand on the Bells’ farm, as they sample a range of cheeses including the latest blues.
The cheeses will be complemented by fine wines introduced by Ben Bernard and specially chosen by Firth and Co Wine Merchants of Newton le Willows, Bedale, renowned for their interesting and well made wines.
The evening, in aid of Butterwick and Salton churches, starts with a ‘pink fizz’ reception, followed by tasting. There will also be a wine bar with canapés.
Tickets are £10 contact and available by phoning Jill Hopkins on 01653 669641
