TWO new Malton breweries are staging a beer celebration in the town this week to highlight the best of British drink-making.

Bad Seed Brewery and Brass Castle Brewery will host Beertown, with 25 beers from around the country.

The breweries have sourced craft beers from around the UK, including Kernel, Magic Rock, Weird Beard, Siren and Tiny Rebel.

Held at the Milton Rooms, Beertown will run from 4pm on Friday, with the band Shitnitz on stage early evening, followed by The Lumberjack Cowboy Heartbreak Trucking Company.

Doors open at 1pm on Saturday with The Patriot Saints and The Lumberjack Cowboy Heartbreak Trucking Company playing through music into the evening. Street food from local suppliers, the chance to try some beer cocktails and a magician complete the line-up for both days.

Visitors will receive a Beertown branded glass, a drink from both Brass Castle and Bad Seed, as well as a full programme of live music for their ticket price of £6.

Chris Waplington from Bad Seed Brewery said: “It’s been great working with the team from Brass Castle to put on the Beertown event and celebrate Malton making beer again”.
