BBC’s The Incredible Spice Men and Channel 4’s Michela Chiappa and her sisters are the first foodie names revealed at this year’s Malton Food Lovers Festival.

Now in its sixth year, the festival attracts more than 20,000 visitors to the town for an outstanding line-up of more than 160 quality Yorkshire food and drink producers, chefs and leading patrons.

The culinary celebrities are hoping to whet the appetites of festival-goers with recipes using local produce.

The Incredible Spice Men and the Chiappa Sisters will be cooking in the chef demonstration theatre and giving cookery lessons in Malton Cookery School.

Award-winning TV chefs Tony Singh and Cyrus Todiwala presented BBC Two’s The Incredible Spicemen, a series transforming the way people cook British dishes at home.

Channel 4’s Michela Chiappa and her sisters, Emi and Romina, will be cooking up dishes from their four-part cooking series Simply Italian. They publish their first cookbook in April.

The festival, on Saturday and Sunday, May 24 and 25, will include a market, demonstrations, tastings, talks and entertainment.

Organisers are also recruiting further talent – go to www.maltonyorkshire.co.uk for information.
