COLD Comfort Farm was published in 1932 and was an instant success. Stella Gibbons became known for it and, though she wrote 25 novels, numerous short stories and poetry, it is Cold Comfort Farm that always springs to mind.
This volume brings a collection of short stories of pleasant relaxing reading far from the multitude of novels published in the genres of crime, thrillers, mystery, and so on. Don’t think, however, that they lack a plot, or are minus the twist and unexpected. The essential elements of the short story are here and are skilfully handled for our enjoyment and relaxation.
