LIBRARIES across North Yorkshire are exploring the theme "it’s a wonderful world" for this year’s Family Learning Festival.
The event is the biggest annual celebration of family learning in the UK and takes place from October 15 to 30. Every year, organisations put on thousands of activities that bring families together for learning that’s fun, informal and inspiring.
Visitors can explore things to do as a family and have the chance to try something new.
Activities range from crafts and origami to discovering the wonders of space or learning about nature. At Easingwold, Richmond and Colburn libraries there will be Winnie the Witch sessions and at Ripon there will be a space-themed event where families can make their own asteroid .
Cllr Chris Metcalfe said: “It’s great to learn new things as a family and libraries across the county are offering the opportunity to do just that, with a wide variety of activities for free or just a small charge.” The hope is families will also discover what services are on offer.
